Since it was born, GRUMA created its own industrial technology dept. TecnoMaiz, subsidiary of GRUMA.
Since its foundation, Altera Azteca Milling Ukraine has made significant progress and continues to develop dynamically, updating and improving its equipment and processes.
Through the implementation of a reconstruction project, Altera has become the first dry corn processing mill in Ukraine, equipped with European equipment.
The flexibility of our technological process allows us to obtain different types of products.
When a batch of corn successfully passes all the quality control and inspection tests, it is then accepted at our facility, where it is processed.
The first step of the milling process is a preliminary cleaning, which includes the selection of coarse and fine impurities, including mineral impurities.
After that, the raw material undergoes a primary grinding with a further sorting of the grinded products, according to the particle size, and the germ is selected as a separate product. At this point, the product first undergoes a second grinding via roller mills, and then it is sorted again with further cleaning.
Ready cleaned products pass through magnets and metal detectors, and only after that they go to the storing and packing.
Our packing lines are equipped with metal detectors and security sieves for external bodies. We have automated packing lines for 25-50 kgs bags and 1 big bag loading station for 300 kgs up to 1.200 kgs.
Our Quality Control Department is well equipped for all analysis which are part of our quality control protocol.
Our laboratory can perform the following analysis:
- Fat content
- Particle size
- Organoleptic analysis
- Density analysis
In order to meet the quality standards and requirements of our customers, we are currently in the process of continuous improvement of our quality system.
We achieved our first BRC certification in 2011, and we renew it yearly with the due updates introduced by the last BRC standard.
